Waqas bhai recently guided me in comment about getting client. He said leads can be acquired through social media networks, own company or other freelancing websites. But I really want to know "how" of it.

For conversion, oriented websites I analysed Amazon and other big websites but can't tell what is important as each website is very different than other. Color, price, button size and placement and item for sale impact differently on different gender and country. Maybe I am looking in wrong direction, so guide me.

I always find colors confusing. I use websites that generate color pallet for your chosen primary color. What I find hard to decide on is what color to use for button, background, heading, main text and other factors.

It got lengthy but I really want to clear each point. 
And... Giving your own used and proven knowledge will be a bonus.
